Before there was Facebook and Twitter, there was a thing called talking - actual face to face communication. In the book How to Start and Make a Conversation you'll learn how to talk to anyone in thirty seconds or less. You may think this is easy and just text somebody, but in the competitive business world, or just life in general, good communication skills are required.

The book's target readers will be mostly shy men and women who have a hard time getting up the nerve to talk to someone, but it can easily be used by students, teachers, business owners, etc. The author quickly takes you through the basic reasons of why conversation is important in our society. There are many reasons why someone can struggle with communications, like social anxiety, fear of rejection, self-esteem, etc. Throughout the book you'll learn about how important body language is; speaking to a stranger in thirty seconds or less; how to make small talk; how to leave a conversation; communicating at work; making friends; the romantic art of conversation; and learning how to communicate in the social media world.

Review - Jungle King Secrets

Jungle King Secrets: A Libido-Liberating Lifestyle For Superior Sexual Satisfaction
Jungle King Secrets
BY: Paul Adcock
PUBLISHED BY: Loving Healing Press
ISBN: 978-1-932690-49-1
Pages: 251

You can’t watch television these days without seeing those annoying male enhancement commercials. In the Jungle King Secrets by Paul Adcock, learn how to increase your libido without using those dangerous, toxic enhancements that are in the markets today.

The basic guideline in the book is very simple: eat healthy and exercise. Stay away from processed foods like cookies, soft drinks and other sweets. Eat fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts, and eggs. Drink raw milk and water. Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol.

Do you know what vitamin is referred as “nature’s Viagra?” Paul Adcock gives you the answer and lists other vitamins that can help you increase your love life. Learn about “energy cultivation (Qi Gong),” and other exercises that helps your stamina and health.

The Jungle King Secrets is heavily researched, but at times the book feels like it’s repeating itself. I think the author could have written this book under one hundred pages without losing any of the information. Overall, I enjoyed reading the book and would recommend it.

Exercise Ramblings 101: Insanity and Home Security

Today I started day one of week 2 of the Insanity program. My legs are killing me, but I'm sticking through it. I got the nerve to weigh myself, and I'm at 197, while I was at 183 before the holidays. So this week a diet is a must.

While being bored tonight, I stumbled upon, which are giving away a $100 Visa Reward offer with your purchase of the ADT Monitored Home Security System. After your $99 installation fee, you can save up to $850 with a free ADT System, which includes: wireless keyboard, three points protection, pet-sensitive motion detector, 2-way voice, high decibel siren, and free keychain remote. To me, that sounds like a good deal, especially when you can have your home monitored by ADT for just about one dollar a day. That sounds like a really great bargain.

ADT has over 130 years of experience and uses up-to-date technology, to ensure that your house is protected, that is why they are American's #1 provider for home security protection. You can control your home anywhere with the ADT Pulse, you can activate or disactivate your ADT Monitored Home Security System with your very own cell phone. Now, you'll know your house is safe and secured no matter where you are at.

Eden Bloggers Program

Sex toys - EdenFantasys adult toys store

While I was looking for new ways to add intriguing content to my blog, I stumbled upon the Eden Loves Bloggers Program, in which this is my first post for them. While first glancing at EdenFantasys, I thought it was just another sex toys site, but after browsing through their many categories, I realized that they care a wide variety of different products for men and women. They’re currently running a 25% promotion on all couple items, which can be a great way to get an anniversary or birthday present for your spouse or partner.

I was surprised to find a big section for the Beauty and Body, which can also make great gifts. There are many body washes, bath salts and crystals, body scrubs, and shower crèmes, to choose from. Currently, you can get 25% off select products in this section including Dona Sensual Chromotherapy Bath Treatment; Dona Body Wash; Bellina Box; Dona Bath Salts; Venus Body Wash; Venus Body Scrub; Shunga Garden of Edo Organic Collection; Dona Body Polish; Dona Bath Foam; Dona Bath Milk; Simply Sensual Body Scrub; and several others. With Mother’s Day around the corner, bath soaps, salts, scrubs could make a good a gift for your wife or partner.

Review - Weeknight with Giada

Weeknight with Giada: Quick and Simple Recipes to Revamp Dinner
BY: Giada De Laurentis
PUBLISHED BY: Clarkson Potter
ISBN: 978-0307451026
Pages: 240

The star of Food Network's Everyday Italian, Giada's Weekend Getaways, and Giada in Paradise is back with a new cookbook. Recipe categories include soups, salads, sandwiches, pizzas, pastas, poultry, fish, meat, vegetables, sides, desserts, and a new addiction called breakfast for dinner. A few recipes include gazpacho; cannelloni bean minestrone, smoked mozzarella pizza, and balsamic-glazed chicken. There is a section titled Change of Pace, aka revamped dinners, which includes such recipes as Asian Chicken (my favorite), sweet and spicy Greek meatballs, and Tilapia fish tacos (not my favorite).

I have mixed feelings for Giada’s new cookbook as most of the basic sections contains similar recipes from her other books. I did enjoy some of the recipes from the Breakfast for Dinner section, which gave a few new twists on traditional breakfast recipes. The Change of Pace section left Giada’s normal Italian meals behind as she give us a variety of different culture meals from South America, Mexican, Thai, Asian Greek, etc. The problem that I have with Giada and other food network stars is that some of the ingredients are not available for most Americans that don’t live near a big city. I wish she had expanded the sides and vegetable section as I thought they were just generic. Fans of Giada will probably love this cookbook, but newcomers might want to avoid it.

Health News - High Intensity Focused Ultrasound

As men ages their chances of prostate cancer increases, especially between the ages of 60-79. Around a quarter of a million men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer each year, which is about 1 in 8 chance.

If you have been diagnosed and the cancer is contained to the prostate area alone, then you might be interested in a new alternative treatment called High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) that uses the ultrasound wave energy. The cancer tissue is destroyed by the used of this ultrasound wave energy that creates a heated elevation of around 90 degrees at the cancer’s focal point. In a Japanese study, the participates had a 94% disease free rate three years after they used HIFU. Participates should have a prostate size at 40 g or less (if not it can be downsized with lupron and avodart.) or the procedure can be lengthy. The presence of calcification can also interfere with the treatment. If so, a TURP can be performed to remove these areas and decrease the prostate size.

A patient is give an enema (1or 2) before the HiFu procedure until everything is clear. The procedure itself is done under a spinal or general anesthetic in the lithotomy position. This take anywhere between one to four hours depending on the size of the patient’s prostate. After the surgery, a foley catheter (sometimes a supra catheter is used instead) to drain the bladder. The catheter may need to stay in place one to two weeks until the prostate swelling settles. After the treatment is completed, the patient can spend between one to two hours in the recovery room, where he’ll be instructed on the catheter care and what medicines to take, which normally include antibiotics, an anti inflammatory, flomax and cialis. Of course, like all surgeries, there can be some temporary difficulty, like urination frequency and burning sensation. There could also be small passage of tissue and blood, but over time this will resolve. Unlike other treatments, severe complications like incontinence, impotence, urethral stricture and rectal fistual are uncommon with the HIFU treatment.

Excercise Ramblings 101: Jumping Back into Fitness

After the holidays I slowly fell out of my exercise routine, so naturally over a few months I gained most of 2011's weight loss back. With my jeans getting a little too tight for comfort, I have decided I need to exercise everyday even if I don't want to! On Sunday I started the Insanity program. I've done some of the workouts before, but I never could keep up with it. Now I'm on my 4th day! It's not easy! My legs are killing me and I'm looking forward to my rest day on Saturday.

Addiction and depression can consume anyone, even us writers. From Modern History Press comes a bold new book Writers on the Edge, where 22 writers speak about their own addiction and dependencies. Editors Diana Raab, award-winning memorist and poet, and James Brown, author and Professor of English in the M.F.A. Program in Creative Writing at California State University, San Bernardino, has complied together memories, poetry, and essays by contemporary authors who bring a new truthful edge with the world of addiction.

Writes on the Edge is bravely written from first-person narratives from authors/writers such as Rachel Yoder; Chase Twichell; Sue William Silverman; Linda Gray Sexton; Stephen Jay Schwartz; Scott Russell Sanders; Molly Peacock; Victoria Patterson; Gregory Orr; Perie Longo; David Huddle; Ruth Fowler; B.H Fairchild; Denise Duhamel; Anna David; Maud Casey; Margaret Bullitt-Jonas; Kera Bolonik; and Frederick & Stephen Barthelme. Each segment deals with the author’s addiction, from drugs and alcohol, to sex, gambling, food, etc.

Each author in Writers on the Edge passionately and emotionally wrote their true story. There is heartbreak, honesty, and courage in every written piece. I recommend it to all writers & readers.
